Nostradamus said in 1548.
"From Albion's shore shall come a marvelous conveyance, a carriage silincieux bearing the arms of Rolles De Roi."
Albion (Ancient Greek) is the oldest known name of the island of Great Britain and from its shores come this beautiful Rolls Royce - hand built. The chrome Hood figurine-Spirit of Ecstasy- derived from the Grande Corniche, the touring road high above the Mediterranean between Nice and Monte Carlo leads this stunning chrome grille made entirely by hand and eye - no measuring instruments are used. Garnet Red with Cream Connolly Leather, this Silver Shadow's unibody construction is powered by an engine that is completely hand built even today. Only 77,850 miles are on the 6,750-cc, Bosch fuel-injected OHV V-8 172 hp. The self-leveling suspension was based on the Citroen hydraulic system and the Silver Shadow employed power disc brakes. Reminding me of the 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 we also have for sale, the Shadow GM-sourced Turbohydramatic 400 Automatic Transmission gearbox, (except on pre-1970 RHD models), which used the same 4-speed automatic gearbox as the Silver Cloud (also sourced from General Motors). The Silver Shadow was produced between 1965 – 1977. Only 16,717 examples of the 1969 Silver Shadow were produced. Rolls Royce Silver Shadow- Silence is Golden. The transcript on the 1969 flyer from Rolls Royce says it all!
A Rolls-Royce Never Becomes a Used Car. It becomes a Classic.
In a Rolls-Royce you'll enjoy one of the great satisfactions left in a world of mediocrity and mass production. You'll be the owner of a rare automobile which ages like the great Bordeaux wines, becoming with proper care even more valuable than on the day you bought it. And as you glide through mundane traffic to your special destination, you will be discreetly but firmly stating your position in the world.
Is a Rolls-Royce different or merely expensive?
Cars perhaps do not have philosophies, but their manufacturers do. At Rolls-Royce we have one simple principle which guides us from the conception, through the designing, testing, assembling, retesting and sale of every component of every Rolls-Royce: excellence is the norm.
Other manufacturers make so-called luxury cars; but their concern is mass production. Ours is excellence. Inside a Rolls-Royce you are surrounded by the best materials available, honestly worked by craftsmen proud to create one automobile at a time. Listen to the silence. At one point a sign was even posted to warn workers in the factory: "Beware of silent automobiles."
As an investment, the Rolls-Royce has traditionally returned to its owner something of a profit. For about five years it depreciates, slowly but predictably, and levels off. Then inevitably it reverses direction.
Some 1962 Rolls-Royces in good condition, according to our records, now sell for $1,000.00 more than they cost new. And many earlier ones have appreciated even more. A Rolls-Royce doesn't become a used car; it becomes
a classic. Excellence is the norm. Integrity is the guiding principle.
You have bought your share of luxury cars and faced your share of disappointments.
Rolls-Royce will give you and your family the kind of satisfaction only a carefully made and individually crafted work of art can give.
This you have heard from the tradition of Rolls-Royce. But to understand it truly, you must experience the car that fathers the tradition.
Come—Your Rolls-Royce is waiting.
