This beautiful "Fintail"(German Heckflosse)1965 Mercedes Benz 190c Sedan, has the original Bill of Sale- Dated November 20, 1964 and was sold to a Stanley Gzaplicki from Ivyland, Pennsylvania. The dealership was KEENAN MOTORS of Philadelphia PA. VIN #11001012095667. The Dark Blue ( Special- 332) Paint appears to be original with only minor rust. The Beige interior (2403) is MB Tex Leather (Full Fluted) with 99,323 miles on the odometer. The original engine, with matching numbers, still runs smoothly and recently went thru State inspection with clear title. The 190 c is a 4 cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft of 90 HP. . Fintail is a nickname given to this type of Mercedes, because of its two rear chrome highlighted fins. American cars in the early 60's were often designed with huge fins, much larger than the German Heckflosse! This is not an official name by Mercedes-Benz. Heckflosse German translation is Fintail, 'Heck' means 'tail' and 'flosse' means 'fin'. The chrome over the entire car is in excellent condition. The W110 was Mercedes Benz's entry level line of midsize autos in the mid-1960s and was introduced in April, 1961. The W110 were among the first series of Mercedes cars to be extensively crash tested for occupant safety. Which explains on the Bill of Sale the optional 2 Front Seat Belts! The 190c was Mercedes-Benz's line of less-expensive four-cylinder sedans. The options such as fixed-back seats and bakelite trim on the dashboard (as opposed to timber in the W111 models). This made them extremely popular with taxi drivers. Production of the 190Dc exceeded that of the petrol-engined 190c by nearly 100,000 units. Also listed is the Automatic Transmission, Front Bumper Guards, W/S W Tires, Power Brakes and Anti Freeze. The Price of the car in 1964 was $4,496.88. Today... only $10,000 more- not bad for inflation on a car that will outlive most of us. June 2016 this car was advertised for sale - Good condition. Drives/runs well and transmission shifts well. Steering Wheel restoration completed by professiona
