Based on documentation, this magnificent 1979 Beetle Convertible has only 13,442 miles. This original paint, original top and original interior triple white base beetle was among the last built at the Karmann Factory in West Germany. The price was $6,800 new and only came in 12 exterior colors including this color Alpine White. A rear mounted air-cooled four cylinder engine at 48 horsepower, weighs about 2,060 lb.! The Karmann-built Cabrios have chrome-edged wind-up windows and a surprisingly weatherproof multi-layered roof on a simple but rugged folding frame. After 1976, most Cabrios feature Bosch electronic fuel injection.
As indicated by the sticker on the back, the first owner was from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He parted with the car in December of 2001 and it went to Ohio. The copy of the title reads that the actual mileage is 6,164 miles. From Ohio, the car was then sold to a person in South Carolina and title is branded actual mileage of 11,695 issued in April of 2015. A photograph labeled 5/8/16 shows 12,000.7 on the odometer . The same owner then moved this beautiful triple White Volkswagen down to Boca Raton, Florida and registered it in January of 2017. The Florida title is labeled Actual Mileage of 12,207. This VW Beetle then came back up north to Pennsylvania in October of 2019 after being purchased by its current owner. Pennsylvania Title State's mileage states Actual 12,465 miles. Tom's Volkswagen service of West Chester Pennsylvania specializing in Volkswagen did a service on the car December 4th, 2019 and marks the odometer at 12,548 miles.
